Welcome to Ovens River Nuts
Home of Australian Grown
Walnuts and Hazelnuts

Nestled amongst the foothills of The Victorian High Country, with Mount Buffalo as it’s backdrop, Myrtleford is the home of Ovens River Nuts.
Steeped in agricultural history dating back to the 1800’s, the Ovens Valley was first identified with nutrient rich soil when Chinese members of the mining community saw the farming potential of the area. Bringing seeds with them from both China and America a new crop was introduced to the valley, Tobacco.

As this new farming industry grew, the region quickly became known as one of Australia’s premier “Cold Climate” food growing areas. A climate which is ideally suited to produce crops such as hops, grapes and nuts including Walnuts and Hazelnuts, both of which are now grown by Ovens River Nuts.
